Vellimoonga Movie Review

If Biju Menon had a big fan base this film would have been a mass hit. Velli Moonga which is a family entertainer directed by Jibu Jacob starring Biju Menon as Mamachan who is an aspiring political leader. Mamachan who owe his political career to the Khadar  Shirt of his deceased father do everything to climb the political ladder. Yet he is not well received in his native. His rivals in the village are panchayath Vice president Jose( Tini Tom) and his friends. The movie revolves around his attempts to beat Jose and to win his dream girl. Mamachan’s Delhi connections and Hindi knowledge bring unexpected turn around in the movie.

Comedy characters lead by Pachan (Aju Varghese) faithful follower of Mamachan do their duty perfectly.

The heroines Lena and Nikki Galrani don’t have much to do. Guest appearances by Siddique and Asif Ali add mileage to the movie.

This comedy movie is capable of surprising you provided you keep the expectations moderate. Even though the music don’t contribute much the title song is just good. Thanks for no fight sequences. The locations are excellent for a village movie.
