Bhaskar The Rascal Movie Review

Bhaskar The Rascal Movie Review

Bhaskar the Rascal is a true family entertainer starring Mammootty and Nayanthara. Yet the show is stolen by Sanoop and Anika who play the roles of their kids. Director Siddique has done the wonder once again with his own story.

Bhaskar (Mammootty) is a widower with a son Aditya (Sanoop). Bhaskar is a real Rascal with short temper and he beat up all the bullies whenever it is necessary. But he is very kind to his son as well as all kids. Aditya is annoyed by Bhaskar’s lack of manners and rough nature. But he is adored by Aditya’s friend Sivani (Anika).

Sivani hails from a single parent family too. Her father is no more and now lives with her mother Hima (Nayanthara). Hima is a baker by profession and take good care of Sivani. But they feel lonely in the absence of a male member to protect them.

The opening sequence have plenty of fun. Both the young actors did a great job and are very much promising. And kids will definitely enjoy the jokes.

As good friends Aditya and Sivani make a plan to get their parents married. This moves the rest of the movie with regular comedy yet not boring. Movie get a new twist when the father of Sivani returns during her birthday party. This reveals more about the past of Hima and have direct consequences to accomplish the innocent wish of her daughter.

Movie have a reasonably good story line and is supported by good cast and crew.

Janarghanan, Harisree Asokan, Kalabhavan Shajon, Saju Navodaya are all on screen to entertain you. Isha Talwar makes a guest appearance too.

Excellent camera by Biju Ulaganath is earnestly supported by editing of K R Gowrikrishnan. Deepak Dev’s music will come with you even as you leave the theatre.

Joseph Nellickal proves once again that he is the leader in Art direction of Malayalam Movie industry, just like Sameera Saneesh makes the same statement with costumes.

Siddique could have avoided a couple of fighting scenes, yet didn’t spoil the party. And this Vishu season its a miracle that Mammootty pulled a better movie for kids than Dileep.

This movie won’t disappoint Mammootty fans as well families looking for a good entertainer.
