Amal Neerad, the eminent Director cum Cinematographer was born on October 7, 1975 in Kottayam, Kerala. Amal Neerad’s entry into the Malayalam film industry has been as the cinematographer for the film Black (2004). After which, his career saw a rise as a cinematographer and as a director with a bunch of movies known for its peculiar and interesting treatment. Eventually, Sagar Alias Jacky reloaded, Anwar, Tournament,  Bachelor party, 5 Sundarikal, and Iyobinte pusthakam have been added to the hit list of this skillful cinematographer. The movies, except Tournament were also the directorial ventures by Amal Neerad himself. His directorial debut was Big B, the Mammootty starrer super hit which has been acclaimed for its stunning camera work.

Amal Neerad who has also done camera for Ram Gopal Varma’s Shiva, James and Darna Zaroori Hai in Bollywood graduated from the Satyajit Ray Film And Television Institute of India.  He has bagged the National Award in 2001 for best cinematography for the diploma film Meena Jha during his graduation. Amal Neerad who has also produced movies like Bachelor party, 5 sundarikal etc owns the production company by the name Amal Neerad Productions.
