Aamayum Muyalum Movie Review

Aamayum Muyalum Movie Review

Aamayum Muyalum by Priyadarsan is a miserable attempt by the veteran director to achieve success with old skills. It is produced by Jaison Ilamkulam. Priyadarsan himself took care of the story.

Movie begins with a non impressive voice-over by Lalettan which give an idea about fictitious village created by Priyadarsan.

Kallu (Jayasurya) and Thamara (Piaa Bajpai) don’t have much role in the storyline. It revolves around funny characters by Innocent, Nedumudi Venu and Mamukkoya.

The village is situated on the Kerala- Karnataka border. But the Malyalees in the village speak dialects from all over Kerala showing poor care taken by the director. The village is under the rule of a female landlord. Which is also gripped by terrible poverty. The movie takes a miracle turn when one ticket sold by Kaasi (Nedumudi Venu) win 5 crore rupees. And everything gets into more confusion as the winner passes away.

All on a sudden one person after another gets into one or other relation with the winner. Kaasi is the real centre character of the movie who repeat the same dialogues.

The lyrics by Rajeev and Priyadarsan sounds like they are from 80s. Also they are wrongly timed in the movie. Not only that, one cant believe that the stunts are directed by Mafia Sasi.

The cinematography by Divakar Mani and editing Ayyappan Nair are excellent but goes in vain as the story and dialogues are none sense. The music and background score of M. G. Sreekumar are of good quality but repeats the same tunes from old movies, just like what the director did with scenes.

If you are a Priyadarsan fan and want to see the foolish sequences from old movies once again in theatre. Then for for this movie which defies all logic and natural laws.
