Pa Va Movie Review
Pa Va (stylized as Pa..Va and also known as Pappanekkurichum Varkeyekkurichum) is a 2016 Indian Malayalam comedy drama film directed by Sooraj Tom in his directorial debut. It stars Anoop Menon and Murali Gopy in the lead roles as two octogenarian friends. It is procuded by Siyad Muhammed under his home production banner Safa Entertainment.
The story revolves around two 80-year-old buddies Devassy Pappan and Varkichan, who shared many dreams and memories together. The drama rolls out with the demise of Varkichan followed by Pappan’s encounters with the former’s apparition.
InPa.Va, the events are essayed with poetic beauty, without getting eerie. Kudos to Murali Gopy for his meticulous and enchanting portrayal of Pappan. The whole movie swivels around the exuberant performance of Gopy. You may never blink your eyes, not even once, to imagine him as someone else.Where Pa.Va tests patience is at certain portions of patchy narrations and stretched second half, which is absolutely predictable.Highlight of the film is Flashback sequences, is promising and can surely impress you.
Satheesh Kurup has handled the cinematography with felicity and the premise springs to life with realistic frames.Songs and background score by Anand Madhusoodanan do manage to register in our minds.Sooraj Tom shows promise as a director and it is commendable that he attempted a change of course and focussed on the life of the elderly at a time when youth oriented themes are holding centrestage.
Other character’s played actor’s Renji Panikker,Indrans,Shammi Thilakan, Asokan, KPAC Lalitha, Muthumani, Sunil Sukhadia, Sethulakshmi, Idavela Babu etc.appear in important roles. They are doing Well.
We Know this is kabali time but It’s very Pleasant movie. Portrayed simple human emotions. Don’t Miss it
