Nee-Na Malayalam Movie Review
Movie begins with the title song ‘ I remember you…’ which is impressive. Then goes back 6 months to tell us what lead Neena to Russia and who is she now.
Vinay Panicker (Vijay Babu) and his wife Nalini (Ann Augustine) shifts from Mumbai to Kochi along with their son. Vinay enjoys his life in Kochi office since now he is the big fish in the small pond. He is now the Boss in MaiTri creative ad- agency. Within short time he impress all his team members.
In his very first day he was impressed by the works of a creative director – Nee-Na. Neena is not only creative but also difficult. She drinks and smokes and hangout with the Gundas of Kochi like Jaljo (Chemban Vinod). Even though she contributes very much to the company she is a constant trouble maker as she don’t share good vibes with her colleagues.
But as a Boss Vinay tolerates Neena as she is. Himself and Nalini keep on trying to bring Neena back to normal life, because she has now become a total alcoholic. After a successful business talk Neena asks for a treat and eventually reveal her love towards Vinay; which he rejects and returns home.
But next day when Neena attempt suicide the family cannot abandon her and decide to help her. This movie tells you how this decision will change the relationship of Vinay – Nalini and Neena.
The story is narrated with real craft and show the real joys and struggles the urban Malayali families face.
Vijay Babu did a wonderful performance with his character Vinay. I cannot imagine anyone else in the place of Nalini other than Ann Augustine. Deepti Sati made an awesome debut with Neena, she is one actress with talent and character within. All the others did good job as well.
Jomon T. John and Ranjan Abraham once again brought sharp and sensual visuals and right mixing once again to the screen. Music of the title song is good. Bijibal’s background score just moves you, it adds a great feel to the whole movie.
This movie talks about real life. Promises to keep- temptations to face – decisions to take.
Realistic impartial narration of a triangular love story.
