Mithra Kurien who entered Malayalam movie Industry playing minor roles is best noted for her role in Bodyguard as Sethulakshmi, the female lead’s (Nayantara) friend.
Mithra first appeared in a supporting role in the 2004 Malayalam movie Vismayathumbathu after which she appeared in 2005 film Mayookham directed by T. Hariharan. Mithra then appeared in quite a lot of Malayalam films, and gained attention by her characters in films like Gulumal: The Escape and Bodyguard. Her role in the Dileep-starrer Bodyguard by Siddique’s direction, gained her critical acclaim and was selected by Siddique to reprise the role in its Tamil remake, Kaavalan.
Mithra was born to Kurien and Baby, on May 15, 1989, at Perumbavoor, Kerala. She is the distant relative of Nayanthara.

Actress Mithra Kurian and her long-time beau William Francis will exchange wedding vows here on Republic Day Jan 26. William is a popular keyboard artist in Malayalam filmdom.

"They've known each other for the last few years. They met for the first time on a trip to US. Since then, they've been going around. The betrothal will take place Jan 17, while the wedding will be on Jan 26," a family source told IANS. A popular face in Malayalam industry, Mithra has worked in films such as "Not Out", aceMasters" and "Ladies and Gentleman". Currently, she's busy shooting for Tamil films "Karikalan" and "Aadhaar".
