Loham Movie Review

Loham Movie Review

Loham the much awaited film from Ranjith-Mohanlal duo successfully tell smuggling story once again. Written and directed by Ranjith. Even though it follow the conventional movie making style with long list of cast unusual to recent Malayalam movies Loham keeps you entertaining.

Jayanthi (Andrea Jermiah) is a carrying wife from Mumbai in search of her missing husband who is working in Karippur Airport. She gets a taxi to move around. Raju ( Mohanlal) is her talkative driver who takes her around to raltives and friends. Unnikka ( Siddique) is also in the same hotel as hers, he looks tensed because of a missing consignment.

First half show series of incidents which are not at all connected to one another in the first look. Appearance of Alby (Renji Panicker) and Aju Varghese the auto driver doesn’t fit in nowhere till interval. At interval comes the twist as Raju shed his former shade and step into new one.

From here on the movie unfolds to new truths as the players switch sides often than not. Early suspects soon turnout to be innocent victims. And Ranjith’s screenplay is just awesome as usual with keen observations and dialogues which are suitably new generation.

Loham which follows the age old success formula will not disappoint you at any point. Action, songs and occasional jokes are all in right proportions. Yet some points you get time to peep at your new messages.

Altogether an entertainer for Malayali audience for Onam festival. The movie will benefit more from low key promotions than anything else because the expectations don’t put a burden.

All the supporting actors in the movie put up a nice show as good actors like Tesnikhan, Joju, KPAC Lalitha, Mythili, Suresh Krishna and Aju Varghese are ropped in for even small roles.

Music by Sreevalsan and background score by C. Rajamani play nicely. Even though Kunjunni S. Kumar didn’t do any experiment with camera he was successful in bringing vivid visuals along with Manoj the editor.

A feast for Mohanlal fans and a decent movie with same success formula for all Malayalis.
