Anjali Menon, the director cum screenwriter has by now contributed a few of Malayalam’s best acclaimed movies.

She made her directorial debut with the feature film Manjadikuru for which she got the FIPRESCI award for the Best Malayalam film at the 2008 International Film Festival of Kerala. In 2009, the movie also swept the awards at South Asian International Film Festival at New York, winning five Grand Jury Awards- for Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematographer & Best Emerging Talent. Anjali Menon’s Bangalore days, released in May of 2014 which featured the ‘next gen’ Malayalam cinema actors created waves in the box office, crossing barriers of language and age. Her script for the movie Usthad hotel earned her the prestigious National Film award for Best dialogue writer. She is also noted for her short film Happy journey which became part of Renjith’s experimental film anthology, Kerala Café- a series of ten short films.

Anjali Menon who was born in Calicut acquired her post-graduation degree in Communication Studies, specializing in Television production, from Pune University. And In 2000, she joined the London Film School, specializing in Film Direction.
