Aadu Oru Bheegara Jeevi Aanu Movie Review

Aadu – Oru Bheekara Cinema aanu!. The Jayasurya starer Aadu is written and directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas and produced by Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas. It is a miserable attempt to create a comedy movie in the background of Idukki with all the clichés like home made guns and liquor.

Shaji pappan (Jayasurya) is the leader to a group of innocent villagers. They win at a local tug of war game and get along with the prize money a she-goat. Even though Shaji is hesitant to take her with ( he hate women folk ever since his wife left him at a time when he was paralyzed) his friends did succeed in taking the goat in the van. And this change the course of their life for a day.

On the way they run into many troubles, which along with some flash backs may tickle your laughing bones. But many a times the miserable efforts to bring jokes with double meanings fall short of success.

In a movie where there is no heroine for Jayasurya, Pinky the goat appears to be the female lead. Even her screen presence is poor! At the first appearance many characters like Sarbath Shameer the SI or Ponnappan the Driver (Aju Varghese in guest appearance) make you laugh. But as the same jokes are repeated only few are tempted to laugh.

Villains lead by Vinayakan make you confused whether to laugh or to cry. The movie reach nowhere at half time and hope of improvement will be shattered in second half. As the movie keep on dragging and repeating age old jokes you will start to wonder when will this end.

Even at the climax you get confused what did the writer director wanted to say. The long star cast including Sunny Wayne, Indrans, Saiju Kurup, Renji Panicker and many others don’t have much to do in the movie than showing up and bluffing some foolish dialogues.

Vishnu Narayan did some brave experiments with camera but it goes in vain as the movie don’t have solid stuff – expect too much talk about stuff – which is a cancer to the so called new generation movies.

All together Aadu will be injurious to health and pocket! Still if you are ready to enjoy the running and jumping of Jayasurya to senseless background of Shaan Rahman you can go and suffer.
